Here’s your complete travel guide to reach Dong smoothly.
1. By Air
Nearest Major Airport: Dibrugarh (Assam) From Dibrugarh, you travel by road to Tezu or Namsai and then continue to Walong and Dong.

Route 1: Via Tezu Dibrugarh/Tinsukia → Dirak Gate → Tezu → Hayuliang → Walong → Dong ● This is the most common and comfortable route. ● Better for travellers looking to explore the Lohit valley.
Route 2: Via Namsai Dibrugarh/Tinsukia → Namsai → Chongkham/Alubari → Tezu → Walong → Dong ● Ideal if you want to explore Namsai’s monasteries and cultural attractions on the way.
